Sorry to announce a small delay for the release of Extra Impetus 4, but checking that everything is ok is requiring more time than expected and we want to be sure that the book is "perfect" before sending it to the press.

It is anyway just a question of few days.

The good news is that it is possible to pre-order until October 18.

Derby Worlds - last days to register!

Few days left to register to the Impetus competition at Derby Worlds (UK).
The competition will take place on October 1 and it will be a 300pts, 28mm (open), 3 games tournament.
The tournament will be only on saturday and registration gives the possibility to visit the excellent show also on sunday.

You don't have a 28mm army? No problem the organizers have about 10 spares that are on offer for people who want to join in.
Just contact them in the forum.

Author Lorenzo Sartori will be present, so a good occasion to meet him.

Impetus in Madison

The Last Square (www.lastsquare.com) will be home to an Impetus Imbroglio Saturday August 27th from 10 am to 6 pm . A number of scenarios will be set up, and players will rotate between them. All are welcome, and armies will be provided -- of course you can pony up two 6mm,15mm or one 28mm armies and your own scenario. A small entry fee will be charged, and lunch provided. Prizes will be awarded. Many eras including Medieval, Dark Ages, and Samurai will be played, eras will not be mixed! Shuck off the jadedness and embrace ancients and medievals again!

Tournaments in Germany

WoreanCon will host the first Impetus tournament(s) in Germany.
The event will take place on July 23 and 24 in Wildenburg castle in Hellenthal.

Actually the tournaments will be 2.
On saturday an International competition on 3 games will take place. Some Italian players will join (including the author of the game) and it would be nice to see also gamers from Belgium and France (Hellenthal is not far away the Belgian border).

On Sunday the tournament will follow to become the German Cup, with 2 additional games reserved only to German players.

Both competitions will be valid for the IWL and based 300pts armies (open), 15mm.

Few days to Impetus EuroCup 2011 that will be held in Salamanca (Spain) on May 21.

The Impetus EuroCup 2011 will be hosted within a 2 days wargames event, with demonstrations of other wargames both saturday and sunday.

Impetus Dies in Turin

Turin will host the first Impetus Dies (Impetus Day) on April 30.
The event is an open day dedicated to Impetus, with historical battles open to newbies as well as game "veterans". Best Italian players will be present as well as the game author. An occasion to try the game and to meet friendly people.

This Impetus Dies will be focussed on 28mm.

Impetus at Little Wars (Chicago)

There will be a two 5 hour sessions of Impetus at Little Wars (Chicago) on April 8-9.
The games will start at 9am (both on friday and saturday) featuring the 1066 battles for rule of England. 28mm Viking, Saxon and Norman armies will be available for those who want to try Impetus! Some Impetus books will be offered as prize.

Impetus at the Wargames Olympiad

On March 26 and 27 PLAY, the most important gaming convention in Italy, will host the first edition of the WARGAMES OLYMPIAD.
Play is held in Modena. Closest airport is Bologna.
Among the competitions scheduled: Flames of War, Field of Glory, Operation WW2, DBA, Song of Drums and Shakos, Shako 2 and Impetus.

The Impetus tournament will be in 15mm, 400pts, 3 games with ancient armies (sub periods I, II and III).

These rules are intended as an appendix to the rulebook and are recommended for tournaments, but they are also suggested for gamers who seek fast and balanced games.
This version also includes some experimental rules like Flank Marches and the new rules on Generals, now under test, that will be published in Extra Impetus 4.

Price increase due to new postage rates

2011 started with a bad surprise.
Without any prior announcement the Italian Post has increased the cost of international priority mail in some cases up to 100%!!
We have temporary suspended the shop to calculate the new costs.
We will try to absorb much of the cost increase, but as we already did so, we will be compelled to increase some costs.

The increase will not affect Europe as we can totally absorb the cost increase (sigh).
Also, orders placed before the closing of the shop has been regularly shipped.

Here the possible costs (the shop will be re-opened in the next days)

IWL 2010 - final results

Luca Pellattiero (photo) has won the Impetus World League 2010.
A very good year for Luca that also won the EuroCup in Madrid.

Yes, you can now convert those skirmish figures or your WAB units into an Impetus army without rebasing. You will be able to play both Impetus and WAB with the same figures.

The scale will be 28mm (300pts).
